Red Group Solutions secures coveted Government accreditation for emissions monitoring software company.

RGS implemented rigorous software development processes and procedures to help a UK software house pass the Environmental Agency’s strict policies on measuring industrial emissions.

The software house whose customers include multi-billion pound business such as BMW, BASF and Astra Zenica was also supported by RGS during an in-depth on-site audit over a number of days.

As a result, the software house has become only the 9th company in the world to be granted the Mcerts certification by the Environment Agency for emissions monitoring software.

Red Group Solutions consultants support the mission critical database upgrade and tuning for a UK PLC with revenues of over £500m.

RGS consultants were engaged to help a major UK PLC optimise and upgrade their business critical database which supports their entire operation across the USA and Canada.

The database is used by over 300 users 365 days a year and has a database size of 1/3 terabyte.

RGS During 2012, RGS was engaged to assist a major UK supply chain software provider with the development of their new browser based distribution system.

RGS was also engaged at a strategic level to make improvements to the IT setup and processes. This included:-

Throughout 2011, RGS have been providing development resources to a leading international commercial equipment supply PLC business with revenue exceeding £225m.

A key part of this success was the utilisation of our highly skilled and experienced resources and with just one weeks on-site training, the team was fully operational and delivered all projects either on time or ahead of schedule.

Technical Analysis and Proposals

RGS consultants represented Progress Software to propose a replacement messaging system for the logistics subsidiary of a £2.5bn FTSE100 company . The recommendation for the messaging system which was used for all communication between head office, delivery depots and drivers was signed-off by the client.

Performance Tuning and Optimisation

RGS database performance consultants were contracted to provide expert assistance for a large Progress partner which is part of a global £6bn FTSE100 business supplying information solutions.

One of the partner's major customers was experiencing performance issues following an upgrade of their server, operating system, application and software. The consultants successfully identified the issues and made recommendations which resolved the underlying performance issues

Late 2009, RGS delivers documentation for an upgrade path and time-line which would enable lastminute.com to upgrade the entire software platform for their Car Hire product. This covers a sizeable infrastructure used for selling car rental on lastminute.com (worldwide), Holiday Autos (worldwide) and Travelocity (Europe).

Mid 2009, RGS assists lastminute.com to improve the performance of one of their key products. The 48 point action plan, successfully facilitated an increase in traffic from their ‘business to business’ partners and improved the speed of the internal MIS reporting platform.
